Friday Finds - Handmade Love

I’ve been on the look-out for an old dressmaker’s form, or some other structure, that I could dress up with scarves and jewelry to photograph.

Last weekend my mom and aunt were planning a trip to the flea market.  I asked my mom to keep an eye out for a form that might work for me.

These two clever and talented women made one!  I cannot believe that they made this!

First they tea stained the fabric and created a pattern; they sewed and stuffed the body. And then they crafted a wooden base from a broom handle and scrap wood.

Truly an amazing treasure!

  1. Wow! That's pretty clever! Everyone I've ever seen for sale in a vintage shop is pretty pricey, so this is a great idea!
